Salmagundi presents our 2nd Annual Hartley Invitational, bringing a group of top representational artists from around the world. Unique to the Hartley Invitational, this exhibition showcases an exclusive group of artists who have been carefully selected and invited by Salmagundi.
The club has a long history of supporting art from its iconic members, including William Merritt Chase, Louis Comfort Tiffany, Emil Carlsen, and N.C. Wyeth. Today’s members and recently past members are some of the most recognized names within representational art, including Max Ginsburg, Richard Schmid, Daniel E. Greene, Patricia Watwood and David A. Leffel.
One of our organization’s founding fathers is American sculptor Jonathan Scott Hartley. During his career he executed commissions for prestigious institutions such as the Library of Congress, New York State Appellate Division Courthouse and he helped form the Art Students’ League of New York. This invitational celebrates and honors Hartley for his many contributions and those artists who follow in his illustrious path.
