Biography:

Vincent Nardone’s art career was launched from his birthplace in South Orange, NJ when targeted as a child prodigy for a gifted and talented school program. Subsequent training in the studio and fine arts education earned him degrees at Montclair State University, NJ and a Master of Fine Arts at the University of Southern California. Vincent then embarked upon a thirty year teaching career as an art specialist in the public schools of South Orange & Maplewood, NJ. Throughout this journey, he never wavered in his quest to research the dynamics of creative problem solving in the visual arts.

Post graduate yearly sabbaticals to Paris and Florence, with disciplines in painting and art history, opened up new horizons. Retirement from teaching gave him more flexible time as a practicing artist while delving into community art affairs. Currently, Nardone serves on the Board of Allied Artists of America and as President of Audubon Artists, two prominent National Art Societies located in Manhattan.

His international and national exhibits in group and one person shows are noteworthy. The Butler Institute of American Art, Youngstown, Ohio, The National Museum of Art in Budapest, Hungary and the Noyes Museum of Art, New Jersey have added his works to their permanent collections. International awards at Le Salon in Paris, the Prix Rubens Medal in Painting from Queen Fabiola of Belgium and the Silver Medallion in graphics at the Seoul International Arts are examples of major awards bestowed upon his art. National and regional awards received include those from Audubon Artists and Allied Artists of America.

As a ‘listed artist’, Nardone has compiled over a thirty-year history with art collectors at major regional and national auction houses. His biographical coverage can be found in Who’s Who In American Art 2016, Biographical Encyclopedia of American Painters, Sculptors and Engravers of the US: Colonial To 2002, N.J., Artists Through Time, 2015, Fonthill Media LLC by Tova Navarra as well as Davenport’s Art Reference Price Guide, ADEC ArtPrice Indicator and AskArt Inc.

Vincent values his membership in national and regional prestigious art societies including: Audubon Artists, NYC, Allied Artists of America, NYC, Honorary Member of the Salmagundi Club, NYC, Belmar Arts Council, NJ, Manasquan River Group of Artists, NJ, Signature Member of the Noyes Art Museum, NJ, Guild of Creative Art, NJ.

As a “visionary expressionist” Nardone modulates his compositions in both ‘plein aire’ and indoor studio settings. And, to achieve imagery, he explores textural and innovative techniques in acrylic impasto, mixed media and pastels when on location at the jersey shore waterways. It is with this divergent playful process of synthesis and abstraction that motivates him to compose ideas, unfolding into those hallmark whimsical compositions.
