William Thomas Evans (1843-1918) was a retired merchant of Mills & Gibbs Corporation, art collector and patron of American painting. Donated to the National Gallery in Washington, aided struggling artists including Henry Ward Ranger and Ralph Blakelock.

$100 awarded at the annual oil exhibition for landscape or figure alternatively.
