Biography:

A native of San Antonio, Texas, Wright Moore attended Amherst College and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1988 with a major in music. Wright remained in the Northeast thereafter, attending Boston’s New England Conservatory of Music, earning a Master’s Degree in Music in 1993. Thereafter, Wright pursued his art education at the Art Students League of New York and the Ridgewood Art Institute, beginning a serious study of oil painting from 2001 to 2004 with Frank Mason, Richard Pionk, Gregg Kreutz and John P. Osborne.

Forging ahead with parallel priorities within the fields of classical music and art, Wright  sings at the Metropolitan Opera as a member of the Extra Chorus and exhibits his work at the Images Gallery in Briarcliff Manor, NY as well as the Latitude Gallery in Rockport, TX.

Wright Moore paints in the Hudson Valley near his studio in Garrison, New York.

In his paintings Wright expresses elements of form and atmosphere, seeking always to emphasize concepts of structure, light effect and design.  His first “one man show” opened November 1, 2007 at the Images Gallery in Briarcliff Manor.

Wright is a member of the Art Students League of New York, the Ridgewood Art Institute, the Garrison Art Center and the Salmagundi Club of New York City.
