Biography:

Receiving recognition for her still life and landscape paintings, Katherine Grossfeld’s oils fit neatly within the contemporary realism movement. Most recently, she was awarded an Honorable Mention by The Almenara Art Prize, a prestigious international painting competition, for her 2025 submission.

In addition to being a member of the Salmagundi Club of New York City, she is a participating artist in the U.S. Department of State’s Art in Embassies Program, a member of Oil Painters of America, American Artists Professional League and other professional organizations. 

Her work is held in private collections abroad and in the United States, including that of US Figure Skater Michelle Kwan, as well as in Tootsie Roll Industries’ Corporate Collection.

Grossfeld earned her MFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. As an undergraduate, she spent her junior year at Studio Art Centers International, in Florence, Italy.
