A dirt path leading forward through verdant green fields, and a single tall tree on one side.
Donald Jurney, "Summer"

The Salmagundi Library Committee continues a series of exhibits in the Smith Library with From a distance. This is an invitational group show of paintings and sketches made entirely en plein air, celebrating the practice of carefully observing the natural world. These works offer a glimpse into a vital part of the artistic process: building a relationship between the artist and nature.
