Salmagundi Club is home to the oldest continuous art auction in New York, held each spring and fall since the late 1870’s. In the past, the historic auctions, along with pledges from patron members, brought in enough money to purchase the beautiful building that the Salmagundi Club calls home today. The auctions are and always have been an integral part of the club as a fundraising effort.
The live auction, held in Salmagundi’s skylight gallery, will be divided into two evenings: a session on Thursday, May 23rd and another on Friday, May 31st, both at 7:30 PM. Those who cannot be there in-person will have the option of registering their bids via the online LiveAuctioneers platform.
A preview of the auction works is available to see on our lower level gallery for the duration of the month until the auction.
Jury of awards | Patricia Watood, Carole Teller, Elizabeth Downer Riker, John Michael Pelech, Neil Allen
