Hadieh Afshani is an Iranian-born artist based in Jersey City, New Jersey, and a full-time studio artist at Mana Contemporary. She received her MFA in Visual Arts from Griffith University, Australia, and her BFA from Alzahra University in Tehran. Trained in drawing and painting, she has taught figure drawing, observational drawing, painting, design, and graphic design at the college and university level for many years. While grounded in representational traditions, her current practice combines painting, mixed media, and drawing to explore themes of migration, motherhood, memory, and resilience. Her work has been exhibited internationally throughout the United States, Australia, and Iran.
