Biography:
Internationally recognized portraitist, Linda Harris Reynolds has been creating memorable portraits for families and individuals for the past thirty-Four years. Working mostly in oils, pastels, and charcoals; Linda’s lively painting style serves to enhance the personality of her subjects and reflects a blending of Classical Realism and Impressionism.
Most recently Ms Reynolds was commissioned to paint the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences from the University of DE, Dean John A. Pelesks; and the president of Cecil College, Dr. Mary Way Bolt.
In 2020, Linda was greatly honored to receive the official portrait commission to paint Delaware’s First Lady, Ms. Tracey Quillen Carney; which will hang in the Governor’s Mansion Woodburn in Dover, Delaware.
In 2023, Ms. Reynolds received the American Art Materials Award from the Pastel Society of America and then was invited to exhibit her work at The Butler Institute of American Art. Recently she was delighted to be a Finalist in the Art Renewal Center’s 16th ARC International Salon Competition 2022 (out of approximately 6000 entries). She received an Honorable Mention in the Oil Painters of American Summer 2022 Exhibition, and also reached an international audience, appearing in Vanity Fair and House & Garden Magazines (UK), in their art sections in 2022.
In January and April of 2021, Linda was delighted to be juried into two International museum shows at the Wausau Contemporary Museum of Art, in Wausau, WI.
In August 2021 Ms. Reynolds was honored to be featured in the editorial section of the national arts magazine, The American Art Collector in their article “Compelling Faces”.She also has been included multiple times in the international magazine Fine Art Connoisseur.
In April 2019 Linda received a Certificate of Excellence from the Portrait Society of America’s competition “The Art of The Portrait”, from a group of approximately 3000 international applicants. In November 2019 Ms.Reynolds received an Honorable Mention for her painting“Nina in Summer” in the NTDTV (and Art Renewal Center’s) 5th International Figure Painting Exhibit at the historic Salmagundi Art Club in New York City.
She has been an Ambassador for the Portrait Society of America since 2009, and mentored artists from the Netherlands and the United Arab Emirates. Linda is currently a member of the Historic Salmagundi Art Club on 5th Ave., NYC, NY.
