I have had the amazing good fortune to be able to call two of the greatest legends in the art world, Richard Schmid and Everett Raymond Kinstler, personal friends.

I met Richard Schmid 22 years ago when he invited me to paint with the painting group he started in Vermont, the Putney Painters. To say my life was changed forever is an understatement! With Richard and his wife Nancy Guzik, I learned HOW to learn, how to see, and how to keep the joy and passion in the journey. Richard taught me the importance of sharing knowledge and passing it on, and it will always be my mission.

Although I never formally studied with Everett Raymond Kinstler, we had a 15 year friendship with him and Peggy, sharing countless incredible stories and conversations over dinner. We talked art endlessly, he critiqued my work, and I pass along his painting philosophy – “feeling – imagination – communication” every chance I get!

I teach workshops around the US and internationally- just returning from Yorkshire this summer, and going to South Africa next fall!
