Salmagundi Curatorial Committee is responsible for maintaining Salmagundi’s permanent art collection of approximately 1,800 works from the 1840s to today, including: paintings, sculpture, objects and works on paper by its past and present artist members.
Salmagundi collection covers a wide range of representational art including: American Tonalism, Golden Age of Illustration, American Impressionism, Woodstock & American landscape and Realism. Here are just a few of collection highlights.
American Tonalism, 1870s-1910s
