My education includes a complete classical training from Grand Central Atelier as well as intensive study with Paul Ingbretson of Ingbretson Studio Atelier. This included working exclusively from life, a practice that remains at the center of my art making process. My approach to painting is primarily based on the visual impression much like in the works of Boston School painters as well as Degas, Velasquez, and Ingres. Additionally, the study of the old masters is essential.

Along with painting, I teach at Grand Central Atelier in NYC where I am challenged by the energy and talent of my students. This year, I have been teaching online with Juliette Aristides. Both programs are rooted in 19th century academic artistic training and emphasis is placed on age old practices.
