I trained under Daniel Graves at the Florence Academy of Art in Florence, Italy. Daniel was a student of Nerina Simi, who was the daughter of Filadelfo Simi, a Florentine painter who studied under Jean-Léon Gérôme in Paris at the École des Beaux-Arts.

Daniel also studied under Richard Lack, who was a student of R. H. Ives Gammell, who in turn was a student William Paxton of the Boston School. Paxton also trained with Gérôme in Paris.

Gérôme himself was a student of Paul Delaroche, who was a student of Antoine Jean-Gros, who was a student of Jacques-Louis David.

As for myself, I currently teach for the Masters program at the Florence Academy in the summers, and I have recently partnered with Juliette Aristides, teaching in her Aristides Atelier. I also teach privately.
